HoHo received his or her much needed scalp lift yesterday. We weren’t sure there was enough viable skin left to be able to make this happen, but Dr.. Weldy did it! Often scalping injuries can be left to just grow back (or not) with minor treatment. In HoHo’s case, this wasn’t an option. The left side of the scalp was literally hanging down over the left eye. Obviously, this resulted in the loss of vision in that eye and was causing pain and inflammation to the eye since the drooping scalp was rubbing against the eyeball. HoHo is on an antibiotic, meloxicam for pain and swelling, and lubricating eyedrops for the left eye. HoHo yas a recheck next week.
