We could really use some Hump Day Heroes today. We have three birds at the vet this morning. The only vet visit that was planned for today was for Chewy for his recurring beak trimming and shaping. But, SURPRISE! Also visiting the vet today are Patches, the pied cockatiel found in Westminster, and HoHo, a young pigeon found at the Hollywood Hotel by a very kind tourist who was visiting from another country. Patches is having a great deal of difficulty with walking, climbing, and perching. There is no obvious/visible cause, but something is definitely wrong. HoHo has a sizeable scalped area on his head causing the remaining skin and feathers on the left side to droop down over his left eye. If there is such a thing as a scalp “lift”, HoHo needs one!
