We could really use some Hump Day Heroes today. We have three birds at the vet this morning. The only vet visit that was planned for today was for Chewy for his recurring beak trimming and shaping. But, SURPRISE! Also visiting the vet today are Patches, the pied cockatiel found in Westminster, and HoHo, a young pigeon found at the Hollywood Hotel by a very kind tourist who was visiting from another country. Patches is having a great deal of difficulty with walking, climbing, and perching. There is no obvious/visible cause, but something is definitely wrong. HoHo has a sizeable scalped area on his head causing the remaining skin and feathers on the left side to droop down over his left eye. If there is such a thing as a scalp "lift", HoHo needs one! Please donate if you can. ● PayPal to avianunderdogs@sbcglobal.net ● Venmo: @AvianUnderdogs (6696 is the last 4 digits of our phone #) ● Zelle: 949-584-6696 or avianunderdogs@sbcglobal.net
Yesterday I was a window strike victim. I'm all better today! What kind of bird am I?
** FOUND, COCKATIEL, WESTMINSTER, ORANGE COUNTY CA, 10/18/26 ** Found near Brookhurst St & Bolsa Ave on 10/18/26. The bird is currently in the care of Avian Underdogs Rescue Association. Though there are no obvious injuries, the bird seems to have some mobilty issues. Proof of ownership is required to claim the bird. Contact Terry Whatley 949-584-6696.
** COURTESY POST - LOST COCKATIEL, FOUNTAIN VALLEY, ORANGE COUNTY CA, MORNING OF 10/17/26 ** Lost off of Newland St between Garfield Ave & Ellis Ave. A reward for the return of Lemon is being offered. Contact number is 714-604-5538.
